Every new technological advancement creates a new opportunity for us to outsource a skill or thought-process. And if we take it up on the offer, we risk losing connection to some important foundational structures.

I'm not against the efficiency or increased productivity technologies like AI and automation provide us. But, we should be aware of the personal tradeoffs. When we automate a task or ask AI to write for us without first knowing how to do that work on our own, we shortchange our own personal development and cultivate a dependency on technology.

My advice to beginners and young people: Master your work in the analog first. Then, use technology to move faster.
